The care of our residents and service to our customers is critical so we always make sure that prospective employees meet our pre-employment screening, referencing and past employment checks before joining our team.

Our recruitment processes encourage a diverse workforce and we are fair and open when recruiting workers by carrying out the relevant right to work checks.

We also carry out rigorous checks for anyone wishing to join Bupa in a professional role that requires membership of certain professional organisations. These include the General Medical Council (GMC), the General Dental Council (GDC), the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC). During employment we will monitor your continued membership with these bodies.

In addition, as part of our regulatory requirements we carry out a series of regulatory checks to make sure that we protect our residents, patients and customers and safeguard our business. These checks are relevant to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Care Quality Commission (CQC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).
