Bupa's job framework means we can categorise all of the jobs that all our people do across the entire organisation. We organise our jobs according to their job family group (the nature of the work that they do) and their management level (the level of skills and capability required); we then bring this information together into a single job profile, which links similar jobs.
At Bupa, we have six management levels
ranging from A-F. Generally, those jobs at management level F will report into a Bupa executive team (BET) member.
Job family groups
We are now able to categorise all of our jobs into one of 15 job family groups, according to the nature of the work of that particular job. It's important to remember that your job family group is not the same as the function that you currently work in. It's ok if your function is different to your job family group; your job family group is based on the type of work that you do and not where you sit in the organisation.
Our job family groups are:
- Business Operations Delivery
- Business Operations Support
- Care Support
- Corporate Affairs
- Customer Service
- Health and Benefits Management
- Marketing and Customer Experience
Within each job family group, there is a sub-group called a job family- these allow us to categorise our jobs further, depending on the type of work they do.
contain all of the information relating to a group of similar jobs that have been categorised together. In Workday, you'll be able to see information about the job profile that's been assigned to you. We have named our job profiles systematically, so that it's easier to identify where a job profile might sit within the job framework. This might mean that your job title, which you use on a day-to-day basis, is different to your job profile title
. If this is the case, then your existing job title will not change and you can use this as you do today.
Please note: if you are a care home worker, or someone who hasn't joined Bupa from Oasis Dental Care, you'll be able to see your job profile once you start using Workday. For more information about Workday, please visit the Workday page
on People Place.
Help and support
Bupa's job framework introduces a new way to talk about the jobs that we have across the organisation, and we know that it will take some time to get used to it.
We suggest that you begin by reading through our FAQs document
, which should answer the questions that you may have. We will be updating this over time, so please keep checking back.
If your question isn't covered in our FAQs, then please talk to your manager. If you have spoken with your manager and you feel that you still need further support, please ask them to submit a query relating to your job profile on People Place using the online help tool
(pink question mark found on the homepage).
If you're a manager raising a job requisition in Workday, and need help identifying the correct job profile to use, please submit a query on People Place using the online help tool.
Alternatively, you can call and speak to the people/payroll team on 0161 931 7500.
The Workday page
on People Place contains a range of information about Workday for people and managers, including animations, recorded web-ex's, demos, and FAQs.
Existing job profiles
You may have already been assigned a job profile and if this is the case, then this is the same job profile that you'll see when you use Workday. In some instances, the name of the job profile may have changed slightly but the information included is the same.
You will notice that the job profile you may have seen previously contains more information than you can see on your new job profile. This is because this additional information is required for regulatory reasons and will still be available for you to refer to.
Please note: these full job profiles are only for certain business lines (for example, our insurance or clinical colleagues), so not everyone has them. If you believe you should have a full profile and cannot find one in relation to your job, please submit a query on People Place using the online help tool
. Alternatively, you can call and speak to the people/payroll team on 0161 931 7500.
