Bupa's global job framework means we can categorise all the
jobs that our people do across the organisation. We organise our jobs according
to their job family group (the nature of the work that they do) and by job
family (this is a subgroup that categorises similar roles together) and their
management level (the level of skills and capability required). We then bring
this information together into a single job profile, which links similar jobs.
We have six management levels ranging from A-F.
Job family groups
We categorise our jobs into one of 16 job family groups,
according to the nature of the work of that job. It's important to remember
that your job family group is not always the same as
the function that you work in. It's ok if your function is different
to your job family group; your job family group is based on the type of work
that you do and not where you sit in the organisation.

Within each job family group, there’s a sub-group
called a job family. These allow us to categorise our jobs further,
depending on the type of work that is done.
Job profiles
Job profiles contain the information relating to a group of
similar jobs that have been categorised together. We have named our job
profiles systematically, so that it's easier to identify where a job profile
might sit within the job framework. This might mean that your job title,
which you use on a day-to-day basis, maybe different to your job
profile title. If this is the case, then your existing job title will not change,
and you can use this as you do today.
