Bupa UK Health Content Team

Posted : 07 November 2018

We support teams across Bupa in delivering high-quality health information, to encourage customers and the general public to live longer, healthier and happier lives.

What we do

As a team of skilled health writers and content producers, we aim to deliver high-quality, up to date and easy-to-read health information.

We do this by taking clinical facts about health, and presenting them in plain English for the general public, and Bupa customers. We also work with medical experts in delivering health information, to ensure that it is relevant, accurate, up-to-date, and reflects current practice.

We support Bupa UK teams in a number of different ways, and are always interested in new ideas. This may be through the delivery of videos, infographics, podcasts and online tools, such as our BMI calculator. Or we can produce content ranging from patient information leaflets for services, to newsletters for corporate clients.

We manage the A-Z directory of health information, and the Bupa Health Blog, on Bupa's UK public website. This A-Z health index includes hundreds of pages of trusted information about a wide range of conditions, treatments and procedures. Our information is accredited by the NHS England Information Standard – a kite mark that is awarded to organisations that produce high-quality information.

Recent recognition of our content includes:

  • British Medical Association Patient Information Awards 2018: Commended for our dementia hub. The judging panel said: "This is a well-constructed web resource which is easy to navigate and informative. This is a good resource."
  • Bupa Global Clinical Excellence Awards 2018: Finalist, Collaboration Award for our workplace mental health and dementia hubs.

Working together

We act as an internal agency across Bupa UK to support teams in the delivery of patient information, email campaigns, client newsletters, and much more. There are lots of different ways that our editors can work with you in delivering your message to external audiences. This may include:

  • writing articles on your behalf to help raise your profile, or proof-reading blogs
  • producing bespoke health content to form part of a marketing or engagement campaign
  • producing and/or updating patient information leaflets or online factsheets
  • producing videos or infographics
  • advising on reliable sources of high-quality health information.
